What is the Throat Chakra?

The throat chakra is the energy center associated with aspects of both truly hearing others and being able to speak our own truth. The throat chakra, known as Vishuddha in Sanskrit, is one of the seven main chakras in the human body according to Hindu and Buddhist traditions. It is the fifth chakra and is located at the throat, encompassing the area of the neck, thyroid, and parathyroid glands, jaw, mouth, and tongue.
